 Procedure for Examinations

  • University Examinations for these courses will be conducted by the university at the end of each academic year/semester and the dates for which will be notified.
  • The Examination for all courses will be conducted in various centers in TamilNadu and other states, depending upon the number of students.
  • There will be two examinations on each day. Generally these examinations are held between from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in the forenoon, and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m in the afternoon
  • Examinations will be held on all days including sundays and other holidays to enable the cadidates who are employed to attend the examinations.
  • The answer scripts will be subjected to a single or double valuation accourding to the rules in force for all courses.
  • Examnations will be held normally in the month of June-Jully and December - January each year as the case may be. The PRIDE reserves the rights to hod examination during any other period as may be decided by the university.
  • Applications for examinations ae normally to be submitted in the PRIDE through the respective study centers on or before the last date and time specified along with examination fee by means of DD in favour of the Rigistrar, Periyar University, Payable at Salem.
  • Application forms will be sent to the students through Study Centres. Candidates who have completed their courses and appearing for arreare papers should also write to the PRIDE to obtain their application forms are available in Spot Admission Centres/Study Centres and can also be downloaded freom the website(www.periyaruniversity.ac.in). In such case the cost of applcation form should be paid along with the examination fee. Students appearing for the final year/semester have to compulsorily pay the fees for Provisional / Convocation along with examination fees. The fee pariculars relating to examinations are given in the table given below.   • Candidate are strictly instructed that they should pay the tuition fees within the last date prescribed and get the identity Card from the PRIDE. Without producing the Identity Card at the examination centre, they will no be issued Hall-Ticket and not permitted to appear for the examinations.
  • Candidates will be required to provide two copies of passport size photographs for every examination along with the application.
  • them Medium of instruction will be English for all the courses except B.A Tamil / B.Lit Tamil / B.A. History / M.A. Taimil. However candidates are permitted to write their examinations either in English or in Tamil for English medium courses at their option. Except M.Phil Tamil students, all other M.Phil students are instructed to write their examinations in English Only.
